I am going to be VERY honest in my opinion of the movie, so if you thoroughly enjoyed it, don't read my post.
Now, onto my opinion. I think that the basic plot points and major scenes were faithful to the book, but the relationships were not. Jacob Black was portrayed amazingly by Taylor Lautner, but his relationship with Bella was pitiful! There was more emotional holds in the book than were onscreen. Bella was beyond hurtful and rude towards Jacob. It was as if the writers wanted to make it seem that Bella felt nothing for Jacob, which is MAJORLY incorrect. Also, the apparitions of Edward were laughable. So was the vision of vampire Bella. (She would NEVER be caught dead in an outfit like that.) The book is about Jacob and Bella NOT Edward and Bella, yet the writers obviously tried to avoid that.
On the end note of my thoughts of New Moon IT WAS CHEESEY!!! (Beyond cheesey.) I am absolutely in love with the book, but Summit just ruined it for me with the movie. I will NOT go see it again in theaters, but I will buy it. I didn't like it compared to Twilight. Twilight just seemed so much better planned out and the relationships were better played out because it was the first unveiling.
My favorite part in the movie and what I thought was the only successful piece was the wolf pack. They were amazing and I want to commend Taylor Lautner once more for his amazing acting.
TEAM JACOB; I RUN WITH WEREWOLVES. ♥
